Pre
Dinner Entertainment
What sort of Pre Dinner entertainment does
magnet provide?
As part of Magnet's popular wedding entertainment
package, you can enjoy light jazz
piano during your pre-dinner drinks when your guests arrive at the
wedding reception.
As
one of the world's major jazz instruments, the grand piano has become
synonymous with jazz alike and cocktail bars, providing a classy touch
to any pre dinner drinks session. It is the perfect solution for your
pre dinner drinks entertainment
and music, since it can be both subtle and ritzy.
All pre dinner music performed by Magnet, is done so "live"
by pianist Tim Manger, who
will choose a tasteful and mood setting selection of jazz
standards. With a lifetime of experience as a both a classical and
jazz musician, Tim will mould your pre dinner drinks session, into the
perfect social event for your guests.
The only requirement is that the venue needs to have a grand piano
available, and that it is positioned near the pre-dinner drinks area.
Why have pre dinner entertainment?
Pre dinner drinks are an important time for your guests to relax and
socialise after your wedding ceremony is over.
It is also a subtle way to introduce your guests to your wedding reception
venue, as it gives them a prelude of what's to come.
Most wedding reception centres will allocate a specific area of their
venue for your pre dinner drinks, separate from where your wedding reception
will be held.
What are the pre dinner entertainment and
music options
The options for the type of pre dinner entertainment
you may choose, will depend largely on the way you would like to prepare
your guests for your wedding reception.
It
is more common to choose pre dinner
music that is more subtle, since your guests will be wanting to
talk. Your major pre dinner entertainment options will most likely include
classical ensembles, jazz ensembles, and soloists.
The actual pre dinner music
and song options you choose are not as critical. For example, there
are many classical and jazz pieces that you may never have heard of
previously, but are perfectly suited to creating the effect you're looking
for.
Remember, you do not need to choose "show stopping" tunes
at this point of your wedding reception, since it is highly unlikely
that your guests will want (or be ready) to sing or dance along anyway.
The art of integrating music into your wedding reception is done so
very subtly, starting the evening with pre dinner drinks (softer slower
music), and gradually building to a crescendo, with your Bridal
Waltz and hence the opening of the dance
floor.
